A quilt in honour of the Stephen Lewis Foundation’s 20th Anniversary is presented by the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign. As the quilt travels across Canada, the Alberni Valley Museum is delighted that the local group, the Pago Grannies, have asked to display the quilt at the Museum.

Hundreds of grandmothers across Canada and sub-Saharan Africa have created pieces that have been sewn together by over 300 grandmothers to tell the story of how women transform their communities. The finished quilt, Nurturing Generations Under the Canopy of Sisterhood, reminds everyone that with ongoing support, women, and older women in particular, play an important role in building a more equitable world.

The quilt will be on display at the Alberni Valley Museum for 3 days only! *Note, the quilt is being packed up at end of day on Saturday, so is only on view until 4:30pm on Saturday.
