Alberni Valley Museum

Welcome!

“this is one of Vancouver Island’s best community museums” – Lonely Planet

Located in the heart of Port Alberni, the Alberni Valley Museum, reflects the richly diverse past of the area, with a large collection of artefacts linked to First Nations culture, local and industrial history, and folk art. The Alberni Valley Museum uses a unique Visible Storage system to make the entire collection available to the visitor at all times — along with the information, in easy to use catalogue books. The Museum presents an exciting and varied program of temporary exhibits each year, plus we offer challenging hands-on school programs and a range of public programs. There is something for everyone to discover, or rediscover, at this impressive local museum.

You can visit us virtually as well! Click on the front door below to “enter” the Museum and enjoy our virtual tour!
