This Spring & Summer is going to be a great season for fun activities and games as well as new programs!
NEW and EXCITING:
- NEW Adult Learn-to-Swim lessons!
- NEW Youth Drop-In Wednesday After School!
- NEW AVM After Dark! Museum programs for Adults!
- NEW Adult Jewelry Workshops in collaboration with Evenflow Studio!
- Drop-In Pottery opening for registration on May 4!
- Art & Crafts – Pottery, hand building, resin and silk-screening classes for youth and adults!
- Group Fitness and Yoga classes on various days/times throughout the week!
- 10 full weeks of Summer Camps for children & youth – trail riding, museum, skate boarding, Jr. Lifeguard, and hockey! Don’t forget about our early drop off at 8:00am and late pick up at 4:30pm.
- Exciting drop in activities for youth and families at Glenwood – Pickleball, Family Multi-Sport, and Laser Light Roller Blading!

- Meet Your Community Welcome Event! April 18 – Attend our FREE Community welcome event! Learn about our community and connect with local businesses and organizations in attendance!
- Let’s Celebrate Abashiri! – From May 30 to June 15, see exhibits, community stories, and Japanese-inspired displays at City Hall and Echo Centre. Celebrate Abashiri Day on May 30 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm with live performances, activities, and a live connection with Abashiri!
- National Health & Fitness Day! Saturday, June 6- Join us for FREE fitness activities to promote the importance of parks and recreation in keeping communities active and healthy!
- Slip N Slide into Summer! June 20 – Games, activities, food, sports, live music, crafts, and loads of local vendors and community groups, showcasing all the great experiences they provide to our community!
- Celebrate PA! July 1 – Join us in celebrating the vibrant community of Port Alberni and enjoy entertainment, children’s activity zones, local food offerings, Rock & Gem show, APR train rides, artist market and so much more!
