The Echo Sunshine Club is a volunteer driven, membership based organization, whose purpose is to provide opportunities and activities to improve and enhance the quality of life for adults and seniors aged 50 years or better. The Sunshine Club offers a wide range of programs and activities from card games, dancing, music, woodworking and bus trips to hiking, table tennis, tai chi, volleyball and pickleball – just to name a few! The Club aims to offer a wide variety of programs that interests our members and it is always growing and evolving so if you don’t see what you are looking for, let us know and we can look into creating a new program.
The Sunshine Club began in 1967 and operates with the support and assistance of the Parks, Recreation and Heritage Department. The Club is home to approximately 1,000 members and is a thriving organization for active adults and seniors.
Anyone 50+ years is welcome to join the Sunshine Club. Membership fees are $70 per person. The fiscal year operates from September – August and membership fees are up for renewal starting in August of each year. A membership allows you access to any of the Sunshine Club program and activity. The Sunshine Club office is located at Echo Centre (4255 Wallace Street).
Not sure if you want to join? Come give us a try! Individuals can go to any activity once before buying a membership. This gives you a chance to see if the activity works for you before you commit to a membership.
