The City’s Parks, Recreation & Heritage Department is responsible for developing, maintaining and operating Port Alberni’s parks and recreation facilities. We are committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our #playinpa participants.
The City is opening and operating our facilities in a way which ensures the safety of the public and staff while COVID-19 restrictions are in place. In accordance with public health guidelines, the City has:
- Developed facility-specific safety plans, for the safety of both participants and staff;
- Implemented a requirement of physical distancing of 2 metres between guests, participants and staff;
- Increased the frequency of disinfection of high touch points;
- Limited participant numbers in our facilities and programs.
Moving forward, we are committed to keeping our community informed regarding the delivery of services while COVID-19 restrictions are in place, and thank the public for their continued patience and understanding.
